The Problem With Albert is Rex
Albert is the logical part of your brain, known as your pre-frontal cortex.
Albert is smart.
He makes plans. He knows what you really want. The problem is, Albert lives inside your brain alongside an impulsive reptile child called Rex, which is the amygdala of your brain.
Rex is an idiot.
We need Rex because Albert uses too much energy each day to be switched on all the time. So sometimes your brain will switch Albert off…
…and this is when Rex takes over.
There Are Two Problems With Rex
PROBLEM 1: REX DOESN’T CARE ABOUT YOUR PLANS
Those plans you made this morning? Yeah. Rex doesn’t care. Rex only cares about instant gratification and pleasure. He is all about pleasure: eating, surviving, and having sex.
That also means drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, porn, gambling, or any other addiction that tricks your dopamine reward mechanism – including staring at 10 second videos on your phone for hours.
PROBLEM 2: REX IS INEVITABLE
You cannot control Rex. If Albert makes a plan to go to the gym later, Rex is the reason you don’t go. Rex is the reason you did’t do what you said you would do — and he appears every damn day, usually in the second half.
You cannot turn Rex off.
Any time you are tired, drunk, stoned, scared, lonely, depressed, or just run out of energy — Rex will take over and kill your motivation, throw away your plans, and feed endlessly on dopamine.
The Solution Is Albert Hour
Albert Hour is a full video course that shows you how to get shit done, by allowing ONLY Albert to drive your life, leaving Rex in the back seat. There are five huge benefits to using Albert Hour:
1. You learn how to make better life choices.
2. You learn how to achieve goals without ignoring time.
3. You learn how to plan and follow through with action.
4. You discover how to stay congruent with what you want.
5. Albert gets stronger over time, while Rex gets weaker.
That last benefit is how you change the human you are being.
If you have a bad relationship with time, or sleep, or if you have ever been a victim of addiction, then you probably give in to instant gratification often, making Rex stronger, which is bad.
Albert Hour makes Albert stronger.
Not only does Albert Hour help you make better life choices, and force you to follow through, it also makes Albert stronger over time, which makes the whole strategy easier to follow over time.
Albert Hour is anti-fragile.
This video course is broken up into 5 modules. You can learn the strategy today, and implement everything immediately, but I’ll be real with you: it takes about 1-3 months to truly master time.
But it is definitely worth it.
